During my recent stay at Tagbalayon Lodging House, I was genuinely swept away by the charm of this family-run haven. As a history teacher, I naturally gravitate towards atmospheres that feel steeped in warmth and tradition, and this place was no exception-staff greeted us by name, creating a truly personal touch from the outset. The bungalows were delightful, with comfortable beds, lovely garden views, and splendid bathroom facilities that made you feel right at home. Breakfast was an absolute delight; I found myself savoring the a la carte options each morning, especially the banana pancakes that seemed to transport me back to delightful Parisian cafés, albeit with an island twist. One would think that such remarkable hospitality and comfort would come at a high price, but to my pleasant surprise, it proved incredibly affordable compared to other accommodations across the Philippines. Their restaurant truly offers a range of tasty dishes at unbelievable value, making it hard to resist dining there daily. If you're ever in Siquijor, I wholeheartedly recommend you stay longer than just a night; the vibrant community and stunning local attractions only add to the allure. Tagbalayon is truly a gem, and I can't wait to return with my family for another round of relaxation and exploration!
